Our dream had always been to have a house in Italy. Having downsized (the children had all left home) we felt our dream was a step nearer. We did the usual things: go to exhibitions; got books about buying in Italy; researched on the internet and finally decided on a area to look at in more detail. Next we booked to see a number of properties in Abruzzo. We looked at few but did not get the feeling that any of the properties were exactly what we wanted, they either had no view, were too large, too small etc, however we did find one we thought might be worth a second viewing. The next day went to lunch with a friend who was working in Le Marche and he introduced us to Gabriele of Mia Casa Marche who talked to us about our wish list and what we wanted from a holiday home in Italy. He spoke so much sense that we realised we needed to rethink our priorities and Gabrielle offered to show us some properties in Le Mache the next time we were in Italy. A couple of months later we returned. Gabriele had arranged a few viewings for us. We fell in love with the first house we saw. It was in the historic centre of a small hilltop village and from the roof terrace you could see the mountains in one direction and views to the sea in the other. With Gabriele’s assistance we were the proud owners of our holiday home within 2 months. We couldn’t believe how hassle free the process had been with Gabriele explaining everything too us step by step. However the service he offered did not stop there. He arranged for us to speak to a geometra about building work we wanted done, hopefully before we spent our first holiday in Le Marche some 6 week hence. The work was overseen by the geometra and Gabrielle sent us progress reports and photographs of the ongoing work, we even met in London to discuss unforeseen work that was required and the costs involved. When we returned to Italy in July the work on the house was completed and as we walked through the house with Gabriele and the geometra we could not believe the transformation. It was beyond our wildest dreams. Since then Gabrielle has organised for further work to be done on the house and again we have not been disappointed. Gabriele goes beyond what you would expect of a property consultant, he is always at the end of the phone if we have any problems. He helped us every step of the way and we cannot thank him enough as we now have a wonderful house in a beautiful village where we feel part of the community. What more could you want!!
