After visits to Toscane and Umbria I came more or less by accident to Le Marche. For several years I had in mind to retire in Italy after having lived most of my life in France, and right from the beginning I liked this part of Italy. So I started to get in touch with real estate agents in this part of Le Marche and visited several apartments and houses. As I had not made up my mind of what I wanted exactly I took my time. Then one day at home in France I found a business card and decided to contact the email address that was shown on the card. I did not have the slightest idea where I got that card from and what that company was like. After receiving a positive answer we decided to meet the next time I was in the area. So then I met Gabriele Mircoli of Mia Casa Marche. He took time to narrow down what I was looking for but that was not the easy as I still did not know exactly myself. A couple of days after that we visited four very different projects. By now I wanted to speed up the process he found me a place to rent so that I was more available to talk over projects with him and visit them. To cut a long story short we finally agreed on a house that pleased me, but fortunately for me his help did not end there. My Italian was less than basic and he helped me throughout the whole process of buying the house. Not only that, but he was there too to help me with all other burocratic problems like registering at the townhall, changing the plates on my car from French to Italian, health insurance, you name it. Even went with me to Ikea in Ancona to buy a new kitchen. At the house, where I live now, there are certain renovations to do, and of course, he is there to help me out with finding the people to do the work and supply me with cost calculations. I found not only a support but also a friend that I can rely on. The fact that he speaks very good English is also an important factor, but as my wish is to speak reasonable Italian as soon as possible he found me the place where I started my Italian lessons. Now we often meet up for lunch even if there are no urgent things to settle or organize. I already look forward to the next one.
