- Pesaro is a large seaside town on the north side of Le Marche. It has a long history and many historical remains from pre-roman times onwards. It has many sites that are a must see; Piazza del Popolo, Conservatorio Gioacchino Rossini, named after the musician as it was the birth and work place of the great man. Tthe Museo Archeologico and if you are prepared to travel a bit, must visit The castle of Gradara, the place that inspired Dante (the divine poet) to write the love story between Paolo and Francesca, that ended in tragedy.
