- Pesaro founded in 184 Bc as a Roman colony,
the predominating colour of this lovely city is rose as this is its emblem,
appearing frequently as an architectural motif and also on its famous china.
It is the birthplace of Rossini – no 34 Via Rossini is now a museum
dedicated to him. Again the Piazza del Popolo is the central square, it
has a stunning Baroque fountain. The Museo Archeologica houses many rare
pieces found locally and at the necropolis of Novilara.
